Stephanie interviews Sean and Heather Lake of BUBS Naturals to share why collagen peptides are beneficial for pregnancy and postpartum healing. This show discusses what to look for when purchasing collagen, how much to take to get those benefits and specific ways collagen peptides and MCT oil powder can benefit mamas. You’ll learn industry insights when it comes to collagen peptides so you can make sure you’re buying a quality product. If you’ve been finding it difficult to navigate all of the important roles you play as a mama, you’ll also love Heather’s insights as to how she navigates life as a mama with a super early schedule as a FOX 5 San Diego reporter all while prioritizing her health and self-care. There are tons of gems in this one that we will leave you feeling informed, empowered, and motivated to be well.

Topics Discussed:

  • The touching story that inspired BUBS Naturals
  • How collagen supports pregnancy and postpartum recovery
  • How much collagen you should take
  • How to pick a high-quality collagen
  • A simple, effective way to increase your energy without caffeine
  • How Heather balances health, mom life and a 3 AM work schedule
  • Heather’s advice for moms struggling to take care of themselves in this season

Show Notes:

Heather and Sean Lake are an adventure-seeking, health minded couple living in Southern California with their two young children (ages 2 and 4). Between their hunger for exercise and thirst for new experiences...this couple is always on the go!

Sean Lake is the BUBS Naturals co-founder and credits his wife, Heather, for urging him to give collagen a try in the first place. He still remembers the day she held up some collagen, rattled off some of the benefits and then looked at him and said, "You're not getting any younger," so Sean gave it a try. Needless to say, he was hooked right away on the benefits.

Sean leaned on his experience as a former professional athlete, skilled marketing director and entrepreneurial spirit to create BUBS Naturals along with business partner TJ Ferrara , the purest form of collagen protein on the market.  The spark for the business came as a combination of FEELING GREAT with quality product and DOING GOOD by donating 10% of all profits to charity. That charity is the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation in memory of his lifelong friend, Glen "BUB" Doherty, a Navy SEAL heroically killed in Benghazi during the 9/11 terrorist attacks (if you’ve seen the movie 13 Hours then you know part of Glen's amazing story).

She and Sean enjoy pushing their bodies and minds in effort to grow continuously and live by the BUBS’ motto: Die young, as late as possible.
